Since the project published, both Christ Child House and the Detroit Free Press have won several national, prestigious awards.
Christ Child House was chosen for a 2009 Angels in Adoption award from the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute in Washington, D.C. The award, which is the result of being nominated by a member of Congress, highlights the good work of constituents who are improving the lives of children through adoption and foster care.
The agency also received an award from the U.S. Commerce Association, which selected Christ Child House for the 2009 Best of Detroit Award in the Children’s Home category. The award recognizes exceptional marketing success.
Kathleen Galligan and the Detroit Free Press won an award from the National Press Photographers Association.
In addition, the full multimedia project won an Emmy in September 2009.
